A little bit more of life in Corfu
Friends,
Even with a 7 hour break during the day I have failed to stay on top of my blogging, regrettably. Most days seem to fill up by themselves with the happenings of life here in Ag Gordios, Corfu. There is, afterall, one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe just a short walk down the hill. There is, afterall, a couple of guitars and my harmonica and more than a few capable musicians...

PS.
I’m 21.
Thanks for the birthday love that I was sure I could feel all day on Saturday.
Half-eaten Tuna Fish Sandwich, chachahchahchacha
Friends,
For my silence I apologize. Lots has happened in the past week and half since Geoff and I returned to Corfu and started working at The Pink Palace, one of the biggest and most famous (party) hostels in the world. Our jobs (busboys) mean wework for an hour in the morning setting tables for dinner (sometimes we have to set for 240 guests and soon the number will be around 500!) and then...
Summer in Greece.
I never saw such a serious sock seller.

Broke in Athens
When you have no money, everything about the world changes. Yesterday Geoff’s small bag was stolen from right under our noses. In it was his wallet and passport and our fishing gear and some other random stuff. A big blow to the morale. Today Geoff and I spent 45 minutes in the supermarket deliberating how best to spend our last 3.65 to quiet our hungry bellies. We did it beautifully, buying...

THE spot.
Traveling with Geoff has been great. Since I’ve hung out with him every single day for the last 5 weeks straight we’ve gotten to know each other pretty well. In some ways I know Geoff better than many of the people I know. And, on account of this proximity, we’ve developed an interesting dialect, per se, in our conversational English. Since it’s his third language he’s constantly getting better...
Italy in a whirlwind
Geoffrey and I have been storming through Italy at top speed.
Venice, 2 days: relatively unimpressed on account of the tourists and the gondola prices, city on water aspect is cool, had to get out quick.
Florence, 2 days: Drank beer on the bridge, good gelato, walked a lot, pissed off because of the €10 entrance fee to see David, didn’t see it, also, €10 to get into city park, left...
Dear Mom,
Can you believe you’ve been a (my) mom for almost 21 years?! That’s a long time. I’m sure you’ve learned a lot in all these days I’ve been alive. You sure have taught me a whole bunch about all kinds of things.
But there’s something else I need to know. I’ve heard that it’s near impossible to thank someone for saving your life, but can you tell me...
Another travel's eve
Hey Folks,
I wish I could start a blog without being obliged to say I’m sorry for the silence of late. Here at Le Petit Chateau life has been a whirlwind of preparation to get the place ready for the tourist season which starts in less than three weeks. Mike and Petra are spending every waking moment either working or thinking about/streesing over the amount of work that’s left....

A city boy learnin' the country life.
Today began like every other at Le Petit Chateau, the summer vacation home owned and operated by Mike Shiels, an old college buddy of my dad’s, and his family, at the round kitchen table eating fresh bread from Cladette’s around the corner with nutella and raspberry jam and an Italian coffee. Mike and Petra are already up and working by the time Georffrey, their 18-in-four-days son,...

Impermanence, right?
I would be a bad Buddhist. I just wrote this long, detailed blog entry about my Easter day. It was creative and poetic and you all would’ve loved it. But internet explorer on this slow cafe computer decided to stop responding as I went to post it.
Basically, yesterday morning I ran to the top of the hill outside of Santiago de Compostela to watch the sunrise. It was...

¡Buenos!
Sorry about the short and inconsistent messages of late. I am in the process of buying a new computer charger and will then be able to show you guys some photos and write at length about the variety of situations I’ve landed myself in.
In brief, the last week has been interesting. I hopped down to Morocco with the crew of random English-speaking nationalities. Overall, the country...
In Morroco!
I made the last minute decision and caught the ferry over to Tangier from Tarifa with the others. All the guys (Nick, Dave, Adam, and I) decided to head south immediately. Jackie, who has more time and money, decided to stay in Tangier for a couple days so we bid her farewell and boarded the 6 hr high speed to Casablanca.
We arrived yesterday around 8 and got a taxi to take us near the city...
I can see Morroco, but is it worth it¿
Yesterday I traveled with 4 others (a Canadian, two Aussies, and a Brit) from Granada down to Tarifa, the most southern point in Spain. From the beach you can see across the straight to Tangier. Last night we could actually see the lights of a city in another continent! But I still can´t decide if it´s worth it. It would mean probably no Istanbul, which is a tough call. I´ll keep you guys posted,...

I am
I´m in an expensive internet cafe (¿€1.25 an hour?) so I´ll keep this short and sweet.
Granada is an incredible place. Every night I sleep in a hammock on the rooftop terrace of the old-city (Albaicin) labyrinth in the hill above central Granada. It´s lovely to wake up in the chill each morning. During the day I wander, sometimes with intention but mostly just aimlessly, and I have lots of free...
Viva de Granada
Granada is beautiful. Im staying for 10 euro a night in this expat hippy hangout called The Flophouse in the middle of the old town on top of the hill. I accidentally met back up with some folks from the hostel in Valencia, theyre making their way down to Morroco and Im joining them starting now. The hostel owner and his friend just sit around all day listening to live recrded Grateful Dead shows...
